in january, i began rehearsals for the world premiere of NEVER THE BRIDESMAID by bill jepsen. under the expert direction of richard shavzin, our fantastic cast created a beautiful piece of storytelling which drew in record-breaking ticket sales for polarity ensemble theatre. and i had a friggin’ BLAST. stretched my actor muscles in ways i didn’t know i could. i prepared to fail. but i won. i won so hard, that the joseph jefferson committee awarded me with best actress in a principal role. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSyS3CAC0UA

shortly afterward, i was offered exclusive representation with the intrepid team at grossman and jack talent. i am in the very best hands. and i could not be more grateful.

shortly after THAT, i booked my first beer commercial, and had my first los angeles booking. flew out to sunny california (first class!), and had a ball shooting that ridiculously fun spot for two days.

after THAT, i went to europe for the first time, and was paid to do so through my work with Sex Signals. for six years, catharsis productions has provided me the opportunity to travel and educate sexual assault prevention through comedy at military installations and universities. this trip was so special. i saw paris. i saw germany. lucky lucky lucky.

we had a beautiful wedding. a few years ago, i remember thinking i would never get married. and now i have another awesome memory in the books for 2013.

after THAT, i was offered a role in TREVOR at a red orchid theatre, a theatre i have been wanting to work with for years. i thought i’d never get in there. and it’s happening. we open on october 20th. thanks, 2013. are you fucking kidding me?

i remember a couple years ago, i just could NOT get work to save my life. i flailed. i panicked. nothing was happening. i thought it would never happen.

it’s happening.  it’s happening when it is supposed to.  it is happening because i am prepared for it.  if you’re afraid, like i was, please repeat this over and over:  DO THE WORK.  BE PATIENT.
